ABOUT US

THE CHOSEN 1-9 MISSION

Chosen 1-9 exists to provide resources and short term housing for single parent households who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

OUR TEAM

Josh Downs

Founder and CEO

Josh was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio, but has called Indianapolis home since 2007. Josh owned his own drain company for 5 years before transitioning to a larger plumbing company until a complex eye injury put his plumbing career on hold.

Growing up in a single-parent household and meeting his wife who was a single mom to two young children helped him understand the struggle and need for more support. Josh envisions Chosen 1-9 to be a place of love, community, and support, where single parents are equipped with the necessary tools and relationships to thrive and lead more fulfilling lives.
